Program Overview

Bachelor of Architecture program at Madan Bhandari College of Engineering is a 5 year (10-Semester) program. It is an important discipline which blends art and science in designing physical structures which shape the environment in which we live wring creativity and a practical understanding of structures and materials to develop concepts, plans, specifications and drawing of building. It has significance of involving in project feasibility study, heritage study, urban planning, interior design and landscape design. Architecture is the art or skill of constructing different buildings such as homes, schools, cafeterias, temples, hospitals, hotels, museums, airports, and so on. It began in the prehistoric past and evolved over time in response to human settlements around the world, including Nepal. The Department of Architecture at Madan Bhandari College of Engineering is a 5-year bachelor program. With a multimodal curriculum that emphasizes basic art, drawing, modeling, and presentation techniques in the first year and computer skills, reading, interpreting, and assessing history and culture in the second year. The third year concentrates on technical aspects of larger building construction, while the fourth year provides students with wide knowledge and skills in managing the environmental, social, and aesthetic concerns of current architectural practice. Six months of office internships and six months of thesis work will prepare the students to manage difficult design assignments with care. Opportunities for architectural exhibitions, design workshops, national and international collaboration, and guest lectures showcase and educate students to contribute to the global and local communities of architects and designers. There are 48 seats available for the Bachelor of Architecture program. The course fee is NRs. 7, 27,000 plus NRs. 20,000 (refundable security deposit). With the addition of highly qualified, professional, and experienced faculty graduates from Nepal and abroad, the college has five design studios with well-equipped drafting tables, five lecture rooms, two computer labs, and one model-making and presentation room dedicated to the Department of Architecture. Architecture graduates can create their own businesses. They can collaborate with a group of engineers and managers. They are qualified for positions in the government sector, as well as the national and worldwide corporate sectors. Graduate architects can work as employees or freelancers in a variety of fields, including interior design, product design, urban design, urban planning, art and craft, conservation, research, photography, and content writing.
